Do you know that I can no longer ask my staff who work a late shift on a Friday night till 22:00 if they would like to come in at 07:00 the following morning for 6 hours overtime. They must now have a clear 11 hour break before starting work again. Even if they want to come in they can't, they are breaking the law. I have people who want to work, they are willing to come in, I have the work for them to do, I want to pay them the £18.00 an hour they will earn. They are not allowed to come in, its against the law to earn a living because you have not had 11 hours off.

That's the nanny state for you. Socialists are NEVER satisfied about working conditions. You are going the way of France.
The biggest loser is the populace the government is trying to protect. One of the ways people are able to pull themselves into the next income bracket is by working harder than the next guy.
